Holland Scholarship for Non-EEA International Students

Brief description
The Holland Scholarship, financed by the Dutch Ministry of Education, Culture and Science, is meant for international students from outside the European Economic Area (EEA) who want to do their bachelor’s or masters at one of the Dutch research universities and universities of applied sciences in Holland.

Scholarship value/duration

  • The scholarship amounts to €5,000. Please note that this is not a full-tuition scholarship. The grant is awarded for one year and can only be received once.
  • The Holland Scholarship cannot be used as a reduction in tuition fee but can be used as part of the required money deposit for the visa procedure (living costs).

Eligibility

  • Nationality should be non-EEA.
  • Should apply for a full-time bachelor’s or masters at one of the participating Dutch higher education institutions.
  • Should meet the specific requirements of the institution of your choice. You can find these on the website of the institution.
  • Should have never before studied at an educational institution in the Netherlands.

Students must have achieved excellent study results during his/her prior education.

  • English Language Requirements

In order to study at Erasmus School of Law, all students must be able to listen, read, speak and write fluently in English from the start of their studies at ESL. When being admitted to our LL.M. programmes we expect all students to actively apply the English language when participating in the lectures, workgroups and group assignments.

  • University requires a minimum IELTS score of 7.0 or TOEFL score of 94 (Internet-based)
  • EMLE students please check the EMLE website.
  • Students with a first or second degree with the English language as a medium of instruction (please submit proof) do not have to submit a TOEFL or IELTS test report.

How to Apply?
The applicant needs to send an email with the following documents:

  • Personal statement
  • Financial document
  • Certified GPA statement confirming your obtained GPA in your prior education (only applicable for prospective students)

Application instructions:

  • You must apply for the Holland Scholarship directly to the participating institution of your choice. The deadline for applications is either 1 February 2019 or 1 May 2019 (annual).
